Title: Adjunct Faculty- Clinical Nursing Instructor

Salary Range: $31.00 per hour

Job Duties:

Adjunct nursing clinical instructors are responsible for facilitating clinical learning experiences in a variety of area healthcare facilities for no more than 10 nursing students per Kentucky Board of Nursing regulation (201 KAR 20:260). 
Provide hands-on clinical instruction and supervision of nursing students while in the clinical setting of not more than 10 students per Kentucky Board of Nursing regulation (201 KAR 20:260)
Facilitate meaningful learning experiences including use of the nursing process and clinical judgement.
Assess and evaluate student learning, providing feedback in a timely manner to promote student success.
Facilitate development of clinical reasoning skills, professional identity, and use of effective communication skills while providing safe patient care in the clinical setting.
Complete clinical evaluation of student performance weekly, at mid-term and final end of term.
Act as a liaison between the nursing program and the healthcare facility.
Participate in MCTC clinical instructor orientation and course specific faculty meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Nursing, or equivalent
Two years of full-time, or equivalent, experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five years.
Current active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse to practice in the state of Kentucky.
To satisfy the requirements of area clinical facilities the successful candidates will be required to submit to a drug screen.
Interacts effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and external customers of Maysville Community and Technical College including Advisory Board Members, clinical site preceptors, and other off-campus sites.
Exceptional customer-focused skills. Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening, and showing respect for others.
Efficient writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
Strong mentorship, communication, and organizational skills to guide and evaluate nursing students.
Ability to maintain student and patient confidentiality.
Possess a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and code of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities.
Commitment to the success of the nursing student, program of nursing, and Maysville Community and Technical College.
Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
