Job description

IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO BE ON SITE 5 DAYS A WEEK. ALL APPLICANTS MUST CONFIRM THEIR ON SITE AVAILABILITY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.

This position requires eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance.

An IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer at Senesco Marine must perform a wide range of tasks related to networking, systems administration, cloud administration, end-user support, and cybersecurity. The IT Infrastructure & Security Engineer supports the IT Manager in implementing and maintaining security controls and practices aligned to organizational requirements including NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC and assists with compliance evidence readiness as needed.

The employee must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company-issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The employee must also have an excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.

Education/Experience

Must have at least 3 years' experience in Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) performing a combination of network support, systems administration, cloud administration, and helpdesk/end-user support (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Net+/Security+, Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator or equivalent), or similar credentials are preferred.

Familiarity with security controls and expectations aligned to NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC is preferred.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be detail oriented to maintain accurate tickets, documentation, and compliance-related records.

Duties & Responsibilities

Must coordinate, implement, maintain, and update assigned computer systems software and hardware in support of operations.

Must be capable of diagnosing and correcting malfunctions to user equipment and systems; must be able to resolve user issues relating to hardware, software, cabling, and telephone systems as applicable.

Must provide Tier 12 technical support, including documenting user interactions and troubleshooting steps and escalating issues when appropriate.

Must support administration of identity and access controls (user provisioning/deprovisioning support, role/group assignment support, secure access practices) consistent with internal information security requirements.

Must support networking operations and secure configuration practices (e.g., secure remote access and segmentation concepts where applicable) consistent with network security management principles and least-privilege design.

Must assist with maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and data by adhering to the security controls outlined in internal policy aligned to NIST SP 800-171 and the CMMC framework.

Must support CMMC readiness activities by assisting with the organization and collection of technical evidence (e.g., screenshots and over-the-shoulder demonstration support) commonly requested during assessments.

Must assist the IT Manager with IT projects and continuous improvements, including standardization, documentation improvements, and security hardening tasks as assigned.

Must be able to work closely with all levels of supervisors and upper management as required.

Must have a willingness to learn new techniques and support evolving security and compliance requirements.

Must be able to receive instructions and perform job duties in budgeted time frames.

Must be a self-starter able to perform job duties with little or no supervision and must identify/report problems and discrepancies to the IT Manager and request assistance as necessary.

Must be able to meet the work schedule and maintain a clean work environment.

Must complete any other task or assignment as directed by a supervisor.

Work Demands

The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves, or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis. The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Department. The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment or broken and misused tools. The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
