Job description

The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for an ITDirector. This position is responsible for leading the technology functions of the City of Hinesville,managing risk and resources, establishing strategic direction, andcommunicating effectively with executive leadership, overseeing the day-to-dayoperations of the IT Department and for maintaining all software licenses,hardware, software, and network components within the City of Hinesville.

Majorduties include directing the daily activities of the IT Department toensure operations are secure, efficient, and productive; organizing andmaintain the City of Hinesville’s computer systems and related records andinformation subsystems; Ensuring that software license laws areadhered to; developing and following project plans for technologyimplementation; researching and making recommendations on computerhardware and software purchases; monitoring and maintaining softwarelicenses to ensure timely renewals; and overseeing the security of theCity of Hinesville’s network.

Minimumqualifications include aBachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology,Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalenttechnical or professional experience related to the installation andmaintenance of computer software or hardware.Minimum of 7-10 yearsof progressive Information Technology experience. Minimum of three years of ITleadership, supervisory, or management experience.CompTIA A+Certification and Network+ Certification required. Certified Government CIO orsimilar public-sector technology leadership credentials.

PreferredQualifications Master’s Degree in Computer Information Technology, InformationSystems, Cybersecurity. Leadership, security, cloud and project-managementcredentials including Certified Information Security Manager, ProjectManagement Professional, IT Service Management (ITSM//ITIL), CompTIA Security+,Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 or Cybersecurity Certifications.

Theminimum starting salary for the position is $96,932.41 plus an excellentbenefits package. The position closes on Friday, September 4, 2026 at5:00 p.m.
