Job description

HRIS Manager  

The HRIS Manager is responsible for the support and maintenance of Tandem Foods HR systems. They are responsible for the daily operation of our HRIS by performing a range of duties including processing employee data and benefits, preparing reports, managing system upgrades, and maintaining data integrity. The HRIS Manager is the subject matter expert within the HR team to automate, integrate, and configure core HR processes. 


Essential Functions:

  • Researches and resolves system problems, unexpected results, or process flaws; performs scheduled activities and recommends solutions. 
  • Designs, builds, maintains, and supports a variety of reports utilizing applicable reporting tools. 
  • Identifies and understands HRIS issues, problems and opportunities and recommends improvements and innovative solutions. 
  • Develops and maintains HRIS procedures, guidelines, and documentation. 
  • Ensures that all HR-related systems are regularly updated and compliant with labor regulations. 
  • Incorporates legislative changes into the HRIS and payroll systems. 
  • Manages HRIS functions related to employee health and welfare programs. 
  • Develops, documents, and maintains all current and new HRIS business process workflows for efficiency and compliance. 
  • Supports management on structural policy matters related to the HRIS. 
  • Maintains data integrity in systems by regularly analyzing data. 
  • Researches and coordinates the setup of new state & local taxes. 
  • Processes multi-state payroll on a weekly basis. 
  • Ensures the timely payment and reporting of local, state, and federal employment taxes. 
  • Works with accounting to reconcile payroll tax deductions with the general ledger. 
  • Manages all HR-related audits by providing support documentation, reports, and information on internal processes. 
  • Distributes monthly reports to accounting, executive leadership, and outside vendors. 
  • Works with management to resolve any payroll discrepancies in a timely manner. 
  • Manages the biometric / keyless door lock system. 


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related discipline required. 
  • 5-7 years’ experience working with HRIS systems. 
  • Experience working with multiple payroll providers. 
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of HR-related software and databases. 
  • Experience managing HRIS changes/implementations. 
  • Strong understanding of human resources, payroll, and timekeeping processes. 
  • Familiarity with laws regarding payroll deductions, garnishments, and the like. 
  • Has working knowledge of compensation and benefits, tax requirements, and understands how compensation and benefits plans affect the company’s finances. 
  • Strong knowledge of labor, tax, and wage laws and regulations. Familiar with standard financial and accounting procedures. 
  • Strong attention to detail, high commitment to quality, critical analysis, organizational and problem-solving skills.   
  • Strategic thinker and multi-systems expert continuously seeking ways to improve and optimize use of HRIS platforms. 
  • Skilled in demonstrating innovation and creativity by continually improving internal processes. 
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and balance multiple competing priorities. 
  • Proficient in Excel and managing data. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
