Position Summary

The ES Office of Data (ES OOD) is the strategic data foundation for Salesforce's Global Employee Success (ES) Operations — championing trusted employee data, unified governance, HRIS security, and AI-ready data foundations that power seamless, intelligent hire-to-retire experiences. We are hiring a Senior Manager, HRIS Data Strategy & Security within the ES Office of Data — a critical leadership role responsible for HRIS technology operations, data program strategy, HRIS security, and technical program management across Global ES Operations.

Data Program Strategy, Operations & Advisory
  • Serve as the trusted data strategy advisor and SME for critical HRIS data programs — including annual compensation, G4G, M&A data harmonization and promotions
  • Lead strategic guidance on data approaches, data dependencies, and execution plans for high-impact ES initiatives
  • Define and execute data strategies for large-scale programs ensuring zero-error, on-time delivery for all critical cycles
  • Build and maintain strategic data partnerships with ES Product Management, IT/DET, and cross‑functional ES COEs
  • Drive the technology operations roadmap for Workday and connected ES systems — balancing innovation with operational stability
  • Manage and prioritize the HRIS backlog — balancing BAU operational demands with strategic program delivery
  • Develop scalable processes, intake models, and governance structures that reflect best‑in‑class program management practices
HRIS Security, Privacy & Compliance
  • Own HRIS security strategy, policies, and governance across Workday and connected systems, including SOX controls management, security intake, and security planner oversight
  • Lead a team of HRIS security SMEs (security planners, security admins) ensuring appropriate access controls, provisioning, and de‑provisioning are executed with precision
  • Champion privacy‑by‑design principles across all HRIS systems and employee data handling practices
  • Partner with audit and compliance teams to maintain and evidence security controls, and lead remediation of any findings
AI First & People Leadership
  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision‑making, or problem‑solving. This may include using AI‑powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI‑driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Lead and develop a team of HRIS strategy, security, and program management professionals
  • Foster a culture of trust, operational excellence, data literacy, and continuous improvement
Required Skills / Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, HR technology, data strategy, or related fields — with demonstrated ownership of HRIS systems and data programs at scale
  • Deep Workday expertise — including security administration, EIBs, business process configuration, and system governance; additional experience with Workday Prism, Workday Adaptive Planning a plus
  • HRIS Security leadership — proven experience designing and managing HRIS security frameworks, access governance, SOX compliance, and audit readiness
  • Technical program management — strong track record managing complex, cross‑functional technology programs involving multiple stakeholders and systems
  • Data strategy acumen — experience leading data strategic planning for large HR programs (compensation, M&A, headcount, promotions) with zero‑error execution requirements
  • Cross‑functional influence — demonstrated ability to partner effectively with IT, product, legal, compliance, and COE teams across a global, matrixed organization
  • People leadership — experience leading and developing high‑performing teams with a coaching and growth mindset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday Pro certification (Security, HCM, or equivalent)
  • Experience working in an HR Shared Services or HR Operations model
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to employee data
  • Prior experience in a large‑scale SaaS technology company environment
