FULL-TIME TENDURE TRACK FACULTY - COMPUTER INFORMATIONSYSTEMS

Kennedy King College

Kennedy King College is currently seeking a Full-Time Faculty to design and deliver instruction to students enrolled in the Computer Information Systems Program. If you have passion for teaching and learning and are committed to the mission of the community college, consider joining our team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs, engage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving, and will be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels, possess extensive knowledge of Computer Information Systems, and be enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge in an engaging manner with all students.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve usingdiscipline-specific thinking strategies.
  • Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments toensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and theattainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
  • Help students reach their academic, personal and career goalsand foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of peopleand ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveyingconfidence in every student’s ability to learn.
  • Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academicand professional communities and promote collaboration and teamworkamong members of these communities.
  • Provide instruction during scheduled class time.
  • Prepare, deliver, and facilitate class lectures and discussionsto students on topics related to course objectives and studentlearning outcomes.
  • Prepare course materials, including course syllabi; evaluatestudent work/performance; log student participation (i.e.,attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure studentlearning and other resources necessary to support classroominstruction, etc.
  • Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and gradestudents' class work, assignments, and papers.
  • Hold office hours for student conferences and otherinstructional support needs.
  • Participate in various department and or college-wideactivities or committees.
  • Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuitcertifications required by the college.
Qualifications
  • M.S. in IT related discipline or an MBA or M.I.S. (Managementof Information Systems)
  • Experience as an instructor/trainer including planning,scheduling, and delivering cyber security and related trainingprograms and materials.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated,results-driven, and well organized.
  • Strong knowledge of formative and summative assessments and therole it plays in the teaching and learning environment.
  • Time Management and Task Management Skills.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communicationskills.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range: $58,000 - $65,000

  • Offered salary will be determined by the respective collectivebargaining agreement and applicant's education.

Chicago residency is required for all full-time employees within six (6) months of hire.
