The Compensation & HRIS Manager will manage the administration of Compensation and HRIS programs that align with organizational goals across the Marmon Rail & Leasing group and work closely with HR, finance, and senior leadership to ensure that our Compensation & HRIS programs attract, motivate, and retain top talent. The Compensation & HRIS Manager may manage a small team of Compensation and/or HRIS professionals and serves as a mentor to develop their skills and abilities.

Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement, and manage compensation structures, policies, and practices that ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Oversee salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and market analysis to ensure compensation is aligned with industry trends and company goals.
  • Utilize Workday to manage compensation and HR data, conduct audits, and generate reports.
  • Leverage Workday functionality to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and provide actionable insights into Total Rewards analytics.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees on the value of their Total Rewards package.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to enhance employee engagement and retention through transparent communication.
  • Ensure compensation and HRIS programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and generate required reports for compliance, audits, and internal analysis.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of compensation and HRIS programs.
  • Use data analytics to provide insights and recommendations to improve the Total Rewards strategy.
  • Lead or participate in special projects related to compensation and HRIS, such as annual salary reviews, open enrollment, or the integration of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, Finance or closely related field (or foreign degree equivalent), and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Position requires 3 years of experience with each of the following:
    • Designing, implementing, and managing compensation and HRIS programs
    • Advanced MS Excel skills: formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and dashboard creation
    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Working with an Enterprise SaaS Application focused on Workday HCM.
  • Position requires 2 years of experience with each of the following:
    • Microsoft CoPilot AI
    • Advanced AI and data experience
    • Power Query
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification.

Position allows occasional telecommuting within commuting distance of reporting office in Chicago, IL.

Salary: $145,662.00 per year.
