Job description

Job Title: IT Field Support Technician II

Location: Fairlawn, OH 44333

Duration: 3 months (Contract to Hire)

US Citizenship or Green Card Required

Position Summary
The Field Technician provides on-site technical support for restaurant operations, ensuring reliable performance of point‑of sale (POS) systems, hardware, networking components, and related technology. This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to delivering high quality technical solutions in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide exceptional customer service while supporting restaurant operators and staff.
• Install, maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair POS systems, hardware, peripherals, and related equipment.
• Resolve technical issues efficiently and clearly communicate solutions to customers.
• Document work performed, maintain system configurations, and execute hardware/software upgrades or replacements.
• Perform light contractor work such as drilling, mounting hardware, and running cabling as needed to complete installations or repairs.
• Train restaurant employees for proper use of supported systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair product failures; order and replace parts as needed.
• Recommend appropriate products, services, or solutions based on customer needs.
• Apply working knowledge of kitchen operations and backend workflows to ensure seamless technology integration.
• Follow established procedures and guidelines while working with minimal to no supervision.
• Report to a Team Lead or Field Services Manager.
Requirements
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing POS or computer hardware systems preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and restaurant technology environments.
• Ability to perform light physical/contractor tasks (drilling, mounting, etc.).
• Willingness to work evenings and participate in an on‑call rotation as needed.
• Reliable transportation for travel between customer locations.
• Completion of account specific training and network cable termination training.
