Position Summary:

The ideal candidate has commercial/ multi-family experience who actively engages contractors, developers, architects, and property managers with a strong focus on multi-family projects, to understand project requirements, recommend compliant and cost-effective solutions, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This position plays a critical role in building long-term relationships, ensuring project success, and contributing to overall business growth through consistent sales performance and market development.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and expands a strong network of referral sources including general contractors, subcontractors, architects, developers, and property managers.
  • Proactively identifies and pursues new business opportunities within commercial and multi-family construction markets through cold calling, job site visits, networking, and digital outreach.
  • Meets with prospective and existing customers to assess project needs including doors, frames, millwork, and hardware specifications.
  • Interprets plans, specifications, and project documents to recommend compliant and cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepares and delivers detailed quotes, bids, and proposals in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provides product knowledge and technical expertise related to commercial openings, fire ratings, ADA compliance, and life safety requirements.
  • Delivers compelling product presentations and solution-based selling tailored to customer needs.
  • Builds and maintains long-term customer relationships through consistent communication, follow-up, and service support.
  • Coordinates with internal teams (estimating, project management, purchasing, and operations) to ensure accurate quoting and seamless project execution.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, resolving issues promptly, and supporting project timelines.
  • Tracks and manages all sales activities, including pipeline, bids, and customer interactions using CRM software.
  • Provides accurate territory forecasts and sales reports.
  • Monitors market trends, competitor activity, and construction pipelines to identify growth opportunities.
  • Represents the company professionally at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds individual and team sales targets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support business objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience.
  • Experience selling in commercial or multi-family markets.
  • Experience selling to general contractors, architects, and similar construction-market stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial doors, frames, millwork, and architectural hardware (required).
  • Understanding of construction documents, specifications, and code requirements (ADA, fire ratings, life safety).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software for pipeline management.
  • Experience in commercial doors is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for computer work, phone use, and driving.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., samples, materials).
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods as required for travel.
  • Visual acuity to read plans, specifications, screens, and documents.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with an approved driving record and ability to meet insurability criteria.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Mostly local travel in and around Salem, Oregon.
