Summary:

Intermediate level position, acts independently or under general direction. Analyzes procedures and problems within manual/automated health care systems; reports findings and when applicable recommends options for resolutions. Formulates system scope and objectives. Confers with professional staff to ascertain specific requirements and assists in the completion of programming specifications. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Associate's Degree in Information Sciences or a related area and a minimum of two years of experience using or installing systems relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
  • In lieu of degree, minimum four years experience using or installing systems relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, written, and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
  • Strong experience with MS Office products and MS Visio tools.
  • General knowledge in software development methodologies, design, and implementation.
  • Office environment with travel to satellite locations and/or vendor sites.
  • Subject to on-call.

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Five years work experience in a health care environment managing or installing systems relative to the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Professional Certification with assigned application (i.e., Epic, OnBase or other application certification). Demonstrated technical expertise with computer operating systems, utilities and hardware, Information technology principles, networking, computer hardware, HL7 protocol, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of technical tools and processes used in system development.

  • May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
