JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general nature of the job):

To provide control systems, electrical engineering for all product lines offer by Stolle Machinery.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:

  • Prepare technical drawings to ensure conformity to standards and customer requirements.
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Strong experience in AutoCAD for generating schematics, panel layouts and bills of material following CE and the NEC.
  • Strong experience with programming and troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley Control Logix and Siemens Portal Platforms.
  • Confer with engineers, customers or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
  • Direct or coordinate construction, support, documentation or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes or customer requirements.
  • Interface with vendors/ suppliers regarding parts deviations.
  • Create and maintain controls systems BOM’s as well as deliver control systems BOM’s, prints and any other technical documents necessary for the manufacture, assembly and operation of equipment sold by Stolle Machinery.
  • Design, implement or improve electrical instruments, equipment or systems for industrial purposes.
  • Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem and recommend remedial measures.
  • Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
  • Must possess the following qualities: strong attention to detail, responsibility and ownership, follow-through, ability to multi-task, efficient time management and organization skills and able function effectively in a high stress environment.
  • PLC programming experience for industrial machinery, primarily with Allen Bradley or Siemens products.
  • HMI/MMI programming experience for industrial machinery
  • Troubleshooting industrial machinery systems including:
    1. PLC
      1. HMI/MMI
      2. AC Variable Frequency Drives
      3. Motion Control systems
      4. Industrial Control networks such as DeviceNet, Profibus and Ethernet.
      5. CAD skills, preferably AutoCAD Electrical and experience designing and creating:
      6. electrical schematics
        1. control panel layouts
        2. machine wiring diagrams
          1. on machine electrical component location drawings Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:

  • BSEE Degree with 5-10 years post graduate industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software including applications and programming.
  • Must possess effective skills in mathematics, reading, writing, speaking, listening, communicating, critical thinking, decision making and complex problem solving.
