Job description

  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Responsible for the organization and transmission of patient information by telephone, verbal and written communications. Serves as a receptionist and ambassador for the department by answering phones and greeting patients, visitors, and family members. Provides information and direction to customers in accordance with their needs. Performs various support activities for the department such as ordering supplies, stocking, and coordinating the needs of the unit/department.
  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The Oncology unit specializes in the care of acutely ill adults and of those who require Cancer treatment and care. Oncology patients are given the highest standards of professional care by registered nurses and nurse assistants. Specialty certification in Oncology is strongly encouraged and supported. Telemetry monitoring is available for the patients requiring stable cardiac monitoring.
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience and/or training with computer applications required.
    • Experience and/or training in medical terminology preferred.
    • Related experience and/or training in a medical facility preferred.
