Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Analytical Lab Operators (ALOs) utilize the principles of self management and work under the administrative supervision of a Crew Manager. Most ALOs work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. While following standard analytical procedures, ALOs perform a variety of normally routine analyses in carrying out skilled analytical laboratory work utilizing a wide variety of analytical instrumentation such as GC, LC, pH meters, centrifuges, VIS, and IR. ALOs safely work with a wide variety of chemical samples for quality analysis. Lab test results are recorded on worksheets and entered into the company computer data system, SAP. An ALO maintains a working knowledge of applicable standard guidelines, i.e., ISO 9001, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc. Analytical laboratory work is concerned with the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products used or produced in manufacturing operations or development laboratories.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants considered for this classification must:
(1) successfully score a Silver Level on the Arkansas Career Readiness Workkeys exams in Workplace Documents, Applied Math and Graphic Literacy.
(2) be able to perform all the essential elements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations;
(3) have strong computer skills,
(4) be strong in team work skills,
(5) be willing to work varied shift schedules based on business needs,
(6) have successfully completed two advanced high school and/or college math courses (i.e., Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc.) and high school and /or college chemistry along with another science course (i.e, biology, physical science, physics, etc,,
(7) have fully satisfactory progress on the Analyst Trainee job classification.
