Job description

STV is looking for a Utility CAD Technician for the Carolinas Utility Coordination Practice, based out of our Raleigh or Charlotte, NC office. This position requires proficiency in Bentley suite of software products and familiarity with NCDOT plan reading. STV is growing in the utility industry and needs a self-motivated, energetic employee who wants to join this high paced environment
Key Responsibilities include:
• Perform modeling, estimating, and drafting using primarily Bentley software on transportation projects, including but not limited to roadway projects and bridge projects, under the guidance of utility coordinators and project managers.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of transportation projects and utility relocations.
• Assist other non-utility groups as needed with design, modeling, estimating, and drafting.
• Plotting of complete roadway/utility plan sets and Formatting cad drawings to client standards using several software.
• Cutting plan sheets and prepare drafting for U-sheets and UBO plans.
• Adhere to company quality standards with regard to work product
• Address red line markups, utility sketches, exhibits, and QC comments from utility coordinators, project managers, and clients to advance roadway and bridge projects to construction.
• Collaborate with other production team members
• Have an understanding of engineering and architectural documentation and construction, including roadway and bridge infrastructure.
• Must be able to work in a group setting and Monitor projects for standards compliance and general modeling errors.
• Review cad and models for design coordination issues.
• Must be versatile utilizing several CAD/BIM software
Required Experience:
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously within assigned timelines.
• Experience with Microstation, and ProjectWise is required. Geopak and ORD experience is a plus.
• 5+ years' experience with NCDOT projects required.
• Strong teamwork skills
• Experience with Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) is a plus
• Experience with Bentley InRoads is a plus

$61,899.00 - $70,339.00
