AT&T is hiring to support a US Government Program that provides IT Services to US Strategic Command located in Omaha Nebraska.

The Systems Engineer applies digital mission engineering techniques to trace existing capability architectures, developed by the DoD and industry, into USSTRATCOM's Enterprise Architecture (EA). This role provides TDL support and is responsible for designing, engineering, and sustaining highly complex infrastructures, including the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

The Systems Engineer designs system architectures for new and existing computer systems and performs advanced systems development and design activities such as logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis, and digital systems engineering. This individual develops innovative solutions to improve production and operational efficiency, while also providing technical insight and guidance for the preparation, maintenance, and accuracy of engineering documentation, processes, and procedures.

In addition, the Systems Engineer implements, manages, and enhances Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline tools to support efficient, reliable, and scalable engineering and deployment practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply digital mission engineering techniques to align DoD and industry capability architecture with USSTRATCOM's Enterprise Architecture.
  • Provide TDL support for system integration and operational engineering efforts.
  • Design, build, configure, test, and maintain highly complex infrastructure environments, operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Develop system architectures for new and existing computer systems.
  • Perform complex systems engineering and design activities, including:

  • Identify and implement innovative methods to improve production and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documentation, standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Implement, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipeline tools and related automation capabilities.
  • Support requirements decomposition, solution development, and technical analysis across enterprise IT and mission systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant STEM field.
  • 10 + Years Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, systems architecture, digital engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience designing and engineering complex infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Experience with operating systems, application software, system management tools, and systems integration.
  • Experience performing systems development and design activities such as logic design, model development, architecture analysis, and systems engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to decompose mission or business needs into technical requirements and solution architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation, administration, or enhancement.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and improve engineering documentation, processes, and procedures.
  • ITIL 4 certification required within 9 months of hire.
  • DoD 8140-compliant certification required within 6 months of hire. Certifications at the Intermediate or Advanced level are preferred. Acceptable certifications may include:
  • CSSLP
  • FITSP-D
  • GCLD
  • GCSA
  • GISF
  • GSEC
  • SSCP

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with SysML and/or UAF.
  • OCSMP and/or INCOSE training or certifications.
  • Degree or formal training in Systems Engineering.
  • Enterprise IT domain expertise.
  • Strong systems engineering mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems, decompose requirements, and develop effective technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting DoD, USSTRATCOM, or other defense-related enterprise architecture environments.
  • Preferred Candidate Profile- The ideal candidate will have a strong systems engineering foundation, a solid technical background, and the ability to work across architecture, infrastructure, and engineering disciplines. Candidates with hands-on digital engineering experience and enterprise IT knowledge will be especially well suited. Program or project management experience alone is not sufficient unless paired with strong systems engineering and technical architecture experience
