Job description

Element is expanding our NDT team in Greenville to support significant growth in ultrasonic inspection capacity. The team currently operates multiple immersion systems and is expanding to support additional systems, creating NDT opportunities at all levels.


We are especially interested in experienced UT Immersion Level II Technicians, but we are also considering candidates with ultrasonic testing, shear wave, NDT school, mechanical, technical, or manufacturing backgrounds.


This role is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, technically curious, comfortable working with computer-based inspection systems, and interested in building a long-term career in NDT.


Open levels:


NDT Technician Level I

Entry-level opportunity for candidates with NDT school training, technical education, manufacturing experience, or strong mechanical aptitude. Level I Technicians will receive hands-on training and work under the guidance of qualified personnel while learning ultrasonic inspection processes, equipment operation, documentation, and quality standards.


NDT Technician Level II

Experienced NDT professionals who can independently perform inspections, interpret results, document findings, and support production needs. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with UT immersion experience, ultrasonic testing background, shear wave experience, or relevant aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial inspection experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasonic and/or other NDT inspections in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
  • Operate computer-based inspection equipment, including immersion systems where applicable
  • Review, interpret, and document inspection results accurately
  • Support production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure inspection requirements are met
  • Follow all safety, compliance, and quality procedures
  • Participate in training, certification, and skills development based on experience level
  • Assist with on-boarding and mentoring newer technicians as appropriate
  • Support a growing NDT operation as additional systems and team members are added


Qualifications:

  • Previous NDT experience preferred, especially UT immersion, ultrasonic testing, or shear wave inspection
  • NDT school graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates with strong technical aptitude, computer skills, mechanical ability, or manufacturing experience may be considered for training opportunities
  • Ability to work with detailed procedures, technical instructions, and quality documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Comfortable using technology and computer-intensive inspection systems
  • Willingness to learn, train, and progress through NDT certification levels
  • Level-specific certifications or documented training are preferred for experienced candidates


Preferred experience:

  • UT Immersion Level II certification or equivalent experience
  • Ultrasonic testing background
  • Shear wave inspection experience
  • Aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, or precision inspection experience
  • Prior experience working with automated or computer-based NDT systems
  • Completion of an NDT training program or technical school
