Survey CAD Technician

  • Location: Hybrid/Remote work Flexible, with onsite work to be out of the Wauwatosa area, or Menasha, WI area offices (Work is to be onsite for 6 months, then can transition to a onsitex3/2xWFH weekly Schedule)

A growing multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm is seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to support land surveying and civil infrastructure projects. This role focuses on translating field data and technical documentation into accurate survey drawings and deliverables used across design, permitting, and construction workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine project documentation, drawings, and digital files to identify requirements and ensure readiness for drafting and production tasks.
  • Interpret and evaluate survey field notes, property descriptions, title commitments, easement records, engineering plans, and construction layout information.
  • Produce a variety of survey deliverables, including but not limited to boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic mapping, subdivision plats, condominium plats, certified survey maps, and supporting exhibits.
  • Prepare right-of-way and transportation-related survey plans in accordance with applicable regulatory agency standards.
  • Convert raw data into clear, precise CAD-based drawings that align with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Build knowledge of land surveying principles, industry standards, and how survey data integrates with broader engineering design efforts.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in CAD platforms used for surveying and civil design (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar).
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documents, legal descriptions, and mapping data.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and organization.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-based environment.
  • Prior experience in surveying, civil engineering, or related drafting disciplines preferred.
