The Opportunity - Build the Future with Us

As an Electrical Engineering Coop Student, you'll join WSP for a 4month work term, with the potential for extension based on performance. You'll work alongside our Electrical and Instrumentation & Control Engineering and Design Team, gaining handson experience across coordination, drafting, documentation, and engineering calculations. This role is designed to help you build practical skills, deepen your technical knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to realworld projects in a collaborative and supportive environment.


Your Impact

  • Support electrical and instrumentation & control engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects from concept through delivery
  • Assist with coordination, drafting, and preparation of technical documentation
  • Develop specifications, datasheets, calculations, lists, and reports using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Apply AutoCAD and Revit 3D to support accurate and efficient electrical designs
  • Contribute to engineering studies including load, fault, arc flash, grounding, coordination, and lighting
  • Apply engineering standards, codes, and government policies to ensure quality and compliance
  • Learn from experienced professionals while contributing to projects that shape communities and infrastructure

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Completion of second year or higher in an undergraduate Electrical Engineering program
  • Exposure to or interest in electrical power systems, instrumentation, and control systems
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit 3D is an asset
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office and engineering software tools
  • Ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized, detailoriented, curious, and motivated to learn in a fastpaced environment

Compensation:


AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 - $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25 per hour
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.50 - $30.25 per hour
