Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CAD Process Engineering Tech will take part in projects that cover all phases of the NPD development process from early conception to prototype and development.This role has a working knowledge of BOM systems and is able to utilize their skills and creativity on a wide range of projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop CAD - Computer Aided Design.
  • Create 3D product assemblies, tooling models (analyze draft, create Fix Turing), and models for CNC machines / concept prototyping.
  • Develops product build books for manufacturing.
  • Creates 2D manufacturing specification drawings and critical section drawings.
  • Supports Design & Production requirements.
  • Works with BOM system and confirm BOM items.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design or 2 years' Experience Computer Aided Design, preferred
  • Auto Cad 2D and/or Catia V5 or similar 3D CAD programs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • CAD should be proficient at 2D CAD software.
  • Ability to think three-dimensionally.
  • Ability to translate concept sketches into 2D and 3D models. Creative thinking to develop proof of concepts.
  • Understanding of aluminum manufacturing & production assembly processes.
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team
  • Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate and timely results.
  • Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate the job
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to be self-directed
  • Ability to work in a team environment
