CPH has an opening for the following position: Survey CAD Technician
The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, maps, and plans using CAD software. This position requires close collaboration with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure the accuracy and success of survey projects. The Senior Survey CAD Technician candidate will have expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Duties Include:
  • Develop and update survey drawings, maps, and plans using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Create topographical and utility surveys, converting field data into precise technical drawings.
  • Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of all project deliverables.
  • Organize and maintain records of CAD files, drawings, and associated project documentation for efficient access and future use.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation from survey data and CAD outputs to support project needs.
  • Stay informed on advancements in CAD technology, software updates, and best practices in surveying and mapping.
  • Perform calculations for field crews and mapping tasks as needed.
  • Analyze deeds and other research materials to assist in survey deliverables.
  • Continuously seek learning opportunities and adapt to new tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Surveyor & Mapper to establish and manage delivery schedules and timelines.
  • Review contracts with the production team to ensure a clear understanding of project scope.
  • Monitor daily project progress, assessing alignment with the proposed hourly breakdown.
  • Evaluate final files submitted by the production team to ensure completeness and compliance with CPH CAD standards.
  • Address any concerns raised by the Project Manager by coordinating necessary revisions or corrections with the production team.

Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficiency in CADD systems.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Adaptable and receptive to instruction from others.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma of GED
  • 5+ years of experience in survey CAD drafting.
