Overview

Sensor Systems Engineering and Technical Support (SSETS) Landing Page (SSETS-2026-24773):

Bowhead is seeking to network with individuals to join our team for newly awarded contract effort to provide engineering and technical support services to support NSWCDD at the warfare center, test facilities, Contractor facilities, and in the field. This support shall be provided in the general Sensor Work Areas of: Requirements Development, Systems Engineering, Analysis, Modeling, Hardware Design, Signal Processing, Sensor Operation, Test and Evaluation, Sensor Certification, and Sensor Requirement Verification.

This position does not allow for telecommuting and all work will be performed on-site in Dahlgren, VA.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering.
    • or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
    • or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
    • or Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
  • Experience with either or both of: AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6
  • AEGIS experience required
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
