About the Program
Join Marotta Controls’ Engineering internship/Co-Op Program and take your classroom knowledge into the real world of aerospace and defense. As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op, you’ll gain hands-on experience in design, production, quality, or test/development engineering while working alongside industry experts. You’ll apply mechanical and aerospace engineering principles to real projects, receive mentorship, and present your work to senior leadership at the end of your rotation. Along the way, you’ll also network with other interns and employees through professional development and engagement events. Internships are available with a variety of teams across the Power and Actuation Business Unit, design, production, quality, or test/development engineering.
Potential for Full-Time Employment: This internship/Co-op provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop valuable skills, and potentially transition into a full-time position based on performance and organizational needs.
What You’ll Do
  • Support the design and analysis of aerospace components and actuation systems.
  • Participate in fixture design, tolerance stack-ups, and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with assembly procedures, technical documentation, and test reports.
  • Contribute to design reviews and product improvement initiatives.
  • Apply your 3D CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo preferred) in a fast-paced environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering program.
  • Strong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (Pro-E/Creo preferred).
  • Detail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Availability to work full-time onsite beginning January 2027 thorough end of summer 2027.
Work Environment:
  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $18 - $24/hr
