Job Description
As an AbbVie Packaging Engineering Co-Op, you'll participate in a paid, six-month program working on meaningful assignments that have a real impact on our business and patients worldwide. AbbVie's Global Packaging organization offers you an opportunity to work in a variety of packaging formats and materials. Throughout the duration, there will be developmental and networking activities, along with housing and shuttle services for eligible students. Co-op's will be expected to work from our North Chicago campus headquartered in north suburban Chicago, at least three days per week, in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Packaging development and testing for new projects
  • Test protocol and test execution
  • Material identification, selection, and specifications
  • Data mining for standardization opportunities
  • Sustainability and packaging improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate and perform independent and team experiments in laboratory and manufacturing plants

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor's in Packaging or related field
  • Must be returning to university the semester following your Co-Op
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 - June 2029

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
  • Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative and integrity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong academic performance
