Description
JOB GOALS: To ensure that each student will think critically, communicate effectively, understand cultural heritage and diversity, respect human dignity, be responsible to self and community, and become a contributing member of society
Essential and Marginal Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Expertise in the areas of cyber security and computer science.
2. Create a classroom atmosphere that cultivates a passion for the field of computer science while providing students with outstanding opportunities to learn and grow.
3. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to provide students with authentic project-based learning experiences.
4. Demonstrate appropriate planning and implement outstanding pedagogical practices.
5. Prioritize utilizing data to drive instruction.
6. Maintain student records, including all required paperwork.
7. Communicate regularly with parents and be available for educational purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
8. Attend staff meetings and department meetings.
9. Demonstrate and maintain current knowledge in the field of education.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain program resources inventory.
2. Supervise corridors, cafeteria, etc.
3. Assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. PA teacher certification in Technology Education (PK-12), Business, Computer, & Information Technology (PK-12), or Mathematics (7-12).
2. Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred.
3. Strong motivational, communication, and organizational skills.
4. Ability to work effectively with a team.
5. Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.
