Job description

We are currently searching for a local, dedicated Class A Driver to deliver in the Northern CA and Central CA area. Drivers are averaging between $275-$400 per day. The work week is Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. You must have a minimum of 3 Years driving experience with 3 axle trucks, 53' trailers required and must have a clean driving record. Our fleet is newer and well maintained. We are ELD Compliant and use electronic tablets for logs and communication. We offer Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K with 4% match after probation period. PAY: Hourly plus Load Pay - typically averages $275-$400 per day

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to our customers. Tasked with safely driving and maintaining assigned trucks and loads as well as completing and turning in required paperwork and reports timely. Works closely with our management and dispatching team to effectively and efficiently plan routes, track deliveries and paperwork, maintain equipment and schedule, and comply with all regulatory and company requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

· Qualified Applicant must have at least 2 years of driving experience without any accidents.

· Dedicated Local Driver

· Applicant must have Van experience

· Must have a clean driver’s record.

· Must be able to work variable hours Monday through Friday.

· Must not have any lifting or movement restrictions.

· Must be of Professional mindset and demeanor.

· Must have minimal computer skills, exp with electronic logs preferred.

· Must have knowledge of Equipment and Driver safety regulations.

· Must be able to communicate clearly with the Dispatch office personnel.

· Drivers must be available to Monday through Friday at variable hours.

· Occasional weekend work

· Drivers are always required to follow the direction of Dispatch personnel at all times.

· Drivers are required to accept loads dispatched to them and be able to communicate and document all requirements of load.

· Drivers are required to operate E logs that are provided by Hydra Transport.

· Drivers are required to operate equipment safely, report any equipment defects and without incident.

· Drivers are required to make sure loads are secure and safe after commencing trip.

· Drivers are compensated by the load. Load pay is calculated by total hours it would take to handle the load start to finish including breaks, pre trips, fueling and loading and unloading. Excess hours are reviewed and compensated upon facts of situation.

· Complete pre-trip inspection report (or VCR)

· Follow all Federal, State, and local D.O.T regulations.

· Follow all posted speed limits.

· Ensure company Tablets are turned on and are operational.

· Ensure timely pickups for scheduled customers.

· Ensure truck is locked when not in use.

· Post trip inspection reports at end of shift

· Complete and sign E logs at end of shift,

· Complete daily housekeeping, cleaning and trash removal from cab of truck at the end of every shift

· Check in with dispatcher prior to leaving for the day

· Meet delivery schedules

· Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts

· Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process

· Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures

· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions

· Must adhere to all FMCSA requirements of those holding a Commercial Driver’s License

· Will not be allowed to handle hazmat loads in any quantity

· Ensure security of equipment and cargo

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip and at the end of each trip

· Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude and provides professional and courteous service to our customers, fellow employees and to the general public

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

· 25 years of age required per FMCSA regulations (2 years driving experience required)

· Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

· Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse

· Must reside within 50 miles of the domiciled terminal and/or work assignment

· Must be able to drive a tractor trailer for a period of time that will conform to FMCSA requirements

· Stable employment history preferred

· Must pass a road test

· Ability to meet the FMCSA’s requirements to speak and read English

· Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, and hot weather,

· Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

· Must be able to interact well with others

· Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

· Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

· Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

· Must be authorized to work in the United States
