The Opportunity

The CAD/Mobile X Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, configuration, and maintenance of CAD and Mobile X systems supporting public safety operations. This role serves as the primary technical resource for system performance, user support, troubleshooting, upgrades, integrations, and operational enhancements while ensuring reliable 24/7 service delivery.


This is a short-term contract with the opportunity for extension, and requires your physical presense in Chicago, IL. This contract is anticipated to begin in July 2026.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain CAD and Mobile X systems, including user access, security, and system configurations.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application, connectivity, and operational issues.
  • Support software upgrades, patches, testing, and deployments.
  • Configure workflows, response plans, status codes, and operational settings.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, dispatch personnel, and public safety stakeholders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Support integrations with RMS, GIS, AVL, telephony, and other public safety systems.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and training materials.
  • Provide user training and technical support for dispatch and field personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with CJIS and organizational security requirements.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident response activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting CAD, Mobile X, RMS, or related public safety systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications and supporting mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with public safety operations, dispatch workflows, and emergency communications.
  • Knowledge of system integrations, SQL reporting, and mobile technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

It'dbe even better if you had

  • Experience with Mobile X, Central Square, Motorola, Hexagon, or similar public safety platforms.
  • Knowledge of GIS, AVL, and public safety system integrations.
  • CJIS certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, and vendor coordination.
