Electronic Assembler

Job Description

Start to finish production team will build small drones (3 feet or smaller) for defense applications, working at an individual bench in a clean, climate-controlled environment. This role involves assembling mechanical and electrical subassemblies using small hand tools, performing quality checks, and following detailed checklists and procedures. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and solid computer skills to work with ERP and basic office software.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies at a workstation or assembly bench according to schematics, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Upload software and firmware into electronic components and sub-assemblies using appropriate tools and procedures.
  • Read, interpret, and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly and wiring of components.
  • Perform precision soldering operations using a microscope to assemble and repair electronic components and circuit boards.
  • Crimp and terminate wires and connectors using appropriate crimping tools and techniques to create reliable electrical connections.
  • Work with low-voltage wiring and electrical harnesses, ensuring correct routing, labeling, and connection of wires.
  • Use hand tools, micrometers, and other measurement devices to assemble and verify electronic components meet specifications.
  • Apply and follow quality standards and procedures, including TS16949, ISO 9001, AS 9100, and other quality certifications where applicable.
  • Follow FOD (Foreign Object Debris) controls and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Use ERP systems and Microsoft Office to record work, track components, and support production and quality documentation.
  • Perform basic computer and hardware troubleshooting related to electronic assemblies and equipment used in the assembly process.
  • Support medical device assembly processes and follow all relevant procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and quality personnel to resolve assembly or quality issues and continuously improve processes.
  • Adhere to production schedules, including working 1st or 2nd shift as needed, and be available for expected overtime.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a clean, climate-controlled production facility with a relaxed and professional atmosphere. You will work primarily at an individual workbench, assembling small drones and subassemblies using hand tools, measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, and computer systems including ERP and Microsoft Office.

The facility supports high-quality, aerospace- and medical-grade assembly with a focus on quality standards like ISO 9001, AS 9100, and TS16949.

Standard schedules are Monday through Friday on either 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute breaks per shift. Overtime is expected as production needs arise.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
