Job Summary:


The Assembler is responsible for assembling crane components to support production schedules.


Job Duties:

  • Assembles sub-assemblies and/or finished products in accordance with written and verbal instructions. (Industrial Cranes and Crane sub-assemblies)
  • Performs all aspects of assembly work.
  • In accordance with company procedures, cleans and prepares units for next operation.
  • Safely operates heavy equipment as directed.
  • Performs inspection activities.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • May be required to operate forklifts.
  • Complies with all requirements of Quality Control.
  • Ensures compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
  • Performs additional duties as required.


Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • Requires knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing
  • Able to read prints and shop manuals
  • Must be able to read a tape, scale and micrometer
  • Must be able to perform simple computer entry for time keeping purposes
  • Prior experience with hand and air tools


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk 95% of the work day
  • Lift up to 50 pounds with the assistance of overhead crane and/or co-workers
  • Twist, reach and bend frequently
  • Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine)
  • Possess depth perception and peripheral vision
  • Possess the ability to hear
  • Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder

Working Conditions:

  • Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day
  • Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, and heavy equipment
