The Vision Products Group Product Design team (VPG PD) is seeking a CAD engineer. We design cutting edge consumer electronics products with highly complex surfaces and advanced engineering and we are looking for a talented CAD engineer to join us in designing, building, and executing our exciting roadmap of products.
Description
As a CAD engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role working closely with the Product Design Engineering Team in 3D and 2D CAD. You will provide support in advanced CAD surfacing, developing novel CAD tools and processes, drawing support, and generally levelling up the CAD capability of the entire team. The role will also involve you collaborating with and bridging the gap between the Industrial Design team and the Product Design team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Excellent NX CAD knowledge and experience, including use of advanced tools and features
Excellent CAD surfacing / sculpting skills
GD&T knowledge and experience releasing 2D drawings
Experience with vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports
5+ years of hands-on, detailed product design and CAD experience
Wide knowledge of basic engineering materials and manufacturing processes
Consumer electronics knowledge in these areas: cameras, sensors (magnetometers, IMUs, capacitive, etc), PCBs and flexes, silicon, antennas, batteries, thermals etc
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including emails, preparing slide presentations, and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Knowledge of specialist CAD surfacing software (e.g. Alias, Rhino)
PLM / Agile / Teamcenter knowledge
Experience collaborating with high-volume Asian manufacturing manufacturers
