Job description

Job Title: Driver / Clerk

Location: Ontario, CA

Company: KMC Rubber

At KMC Rubber, the job isn’t done until the customer receives the exact compound they ordered with the exact paperwork they require. We are a custom mix manufacturer, and we need a Driver / Clerk who is as comfortable on a forklift as they are managing a Bill of Lading. You will be the final line of defense for quality and the engine that keeps our dock cleared and our customers happy.

The Daily Grind
  • Delivery Command: Load, organize and secure cargo to ensure timely delivery and pick up of materials.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Organize finished goods and raw material staging. We don’t “lose” material here.
  • ISO 9001 Compliance: Ensure every shipment has the correct COA (Certificate of Analysis) and labels. In custom mixing, the paperwork is as important as the rubber.
  • Team Work: Work alongside a small team in the shipping & receiving department to keep production lines supplied and the shipping lane clear.
  • Safe Transportation: Drive company vehicles safely and efficiently, obeying all traffic laws.
  • Loading/Unloading: Load, organize, and secure cargo to prevent damage, often requiring lifting, bending, and stooping.
  • Route Optimization: Utilize GPS or maps to plan efficient routes, adhering to delivery schedules.
  • Customer Service: Greet customers and suppliers professionally, verify orders, obtain signatures.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine vehicle inspections (e.g., fuel, oil, tires) and maintain a clean, organized vehicle.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, and fuel expenses.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Experience: Previous experience in an industrial shipping/receiving and/or experience in a delivery or courier role.
  • License: Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Forklift Mastery: High-level proficiency with sit-down forklifts (handling heavy, shifting loads like rubber crates/pallets).
  • Tech Savvy: Ability to use ERP/Inventory software and FedEx/UPS shipping systems.
  • The “Grit”: You thrive in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • The “Grind”: You have a sharp eye for detail. You catch the wrong label before it leaves the building.
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manually adjust pallets or crates as needed.
  • Endurance: Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for the duration of an 8–10 hour shift.
  • Environment: Exposure to the elements (open dock doors) and the dust/smell of a rubber manufacturing facility.
