Job description

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrate technical adeptness in the area of manufacturing processes, and a willingness to learn the existing manufacturing processes and equipment, and the associated operation and maintenance.

Coordinate with project team and manage/lead the development of new processes/production lines to ensure a timely and efficient handover of new product and process launches to series production.

Establish relationships with European colleagues in project teams and with counterparts in order to share knowledge and standardize processes.

Work with industrial engineering to design process improvements for existing manufacturing processes.

Design, create prints and 3D models, quote, manage installation, and release to production new stations and fixtures for new products developed for existing assembly lines.

Manage and develop the production of assembly prototypes based on specs provided.

Work with R&D to quickly prepare cost, labor, and cycle time estimations for new assembly production lines and processes to ensure a rapid response to RFQs from potential customers.

Design and develop process/equipment drafts and specifications in coordination with German counterparts. Use these specifications to find and manage machine builders in accordance with project timelines.

Create and manage capital invest spending while adhering to project and management budget targets.

Assure product and process quality by developing testing methods, creating the initial standardized work and machine adjustment instructions, and creating the initial PFMEAs.

Assist the Testing and Controls department in the design, quoting, and building of test equipment.

Assist the quality department in the creation of new Control plans for new projects and equipment.

Perform equipment commissioning, pre-acceptances (at machine builder), and final acceptances for new equipment and production lines.

Performing process/gage capabilities and performing gage R&Rs both with MS Excel and various other statistical software to ensure that process and testing equipment meets the criteria for acceptance.

Calculate and provide values for machine uptimes; labor, material, and scrap costs; and production rate information in order to establish benchmarks for continuous improvement activities and for tracking new projects.

Collect, analyze, and evaluate information and trends and have the ability to interpret the information into a beneficial summary, report, or metric.

Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

Manage, dictate, and control all initial necessary documentation associated with new machines.

Maintains and utilizes process data from the various assembly processes and be able to analyze said data when necessary.

Willingness to learn and maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and attending training on the various manufacturing processes and procedures.

Perform Process Audits in accordance with VDA, IATF, and ISO standards.

Assist maintenance and industrial engineering on troubleshooting machine/process issues when required.

Own individual work and personal performance.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from accredited institution.

Four to Eight (8) years of experience in the field of industrial, process and automation engineering. Intern and/or co‑op experience a plus.

Working knowledge of electrical, controls, and programming is a plus.

Ability to hold a passport and travel within Germany without accompaniment.

Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Some knowledge of the German language and customs are a plus.

Strong CAD and 3D modeling skill. Creo experience is a plus.

Microsoft Office, Minitab, or other production software experience.

Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to function in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and handle multiple projects and assignments with proficiency.
