About Us
Steelial Construction and Metal Fabrication is a growing company specializing in high-quality construction and custom metal fabrication solutions. We pride ourselves on precision, craftsmanship, and delivering projects that meet the highest industry standards. Due to continued growth, we are seeking CAD Draftsmen to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity.
Position Summary:
The CAD Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and fabrication-ready shop drawings to support construction and metal fabrication projects. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure all designs are practical, compliant, and delivered on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create detailed CAD drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication plans.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
  • Develop layouts for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and custom fabricated components.
  • Use Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed part drawings.
  • Revise drawings based on field conditions, RFIs, and project updates.
  • Maintain drawing standards, file organization, and version control.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and shop personnel.
  • Ensure drawings meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a CAD Draftsman in construction or metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (Inventor experience required).
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience producing shop drawings for steel fabrication.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (AISC, AWS, SMACNA, etc.)
  • Experience creating 3D models and assemblies for fabrication.
  • Shop or field experience is a plus.
