Teacher Aide

Pay Range: $18.72 - $20.00 per hour if certified ** and $18.00- $18.00 if not certified.

Position Summary:

Teacher Aide will work with the Teachers to create a warm, welcoming and inviting educational environment for children and families.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to meet all EEC, NAEYC and Head Start performance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to Head Start/Early Head Start and MA Department of Early Education and Care;
  • Assist with the maintenance of a clean, safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate classroom environment;
  • Assist with individual and group activities in a center-based classroom at the direction of the Teachers.
  • Uphold the values of CTI Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

The duties listed above are representative of the work performed. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Uncertified Aide - High School Diploma or Equivalent OR enrolled in a Highschool Early Childhood Development program or work experience program -
  • Certified Aide- Experience based on education. (3 months if you have a AA or BA, 9 months if you have HS Diploma)
  • 6 months to 1 year of teaching experience preferred
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience working with low-income individuals or families preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Khmer) are a plus.
  • Must be able to show evidence of MMR vaccination and have a recent physical.
  • CORI/DCF review prior to employment which includes fingerprinting.
  • Background check prior to employment
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Good attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer English/Portuguese)
