General Compressor Inc. employs certified technicians for all brands of equipment and ASSE 6040 certified technicians for medical air and medical vacuum systems. The team is committed to reliable, responsive service, offering 24/7/365 emergency support and expert piping installation to keep customer systems running efficiently for years.



Role Description This full-time, on-site Service Technician role is based in Oklahoma City, OK. The Service Technician will perform routine and preventive maintenance on air compressors and related systems, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and carry out repairs in the field and in the shop. Responsibilities include responding to service calls, completing service documentation, and supporting installations and upgrades of compressed air and piping systems. The role interacts directly with customers, providing clear communication about service needs, timelines, and equipment status while representing General Compressor Inc. with professionalism and safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills
  • Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues efficiently.
  • Candidates should possess Field Service skills, including working independently at customer sites
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to communicate effectively with clients and build long-term relationships.
  • Experience with industrial or commercial mechanical systems; air compressor or pneumatic system experience preferred.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude, with ability to read manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a mechanical or electrical field is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment and tools in a field environment and work in various industrial settings.
