Job description

What You'll Do
  • Lead, optimize, and troubleshoot thermoset compression molding processes for fiberglass-reinforced polyester (FRP/SMC/BMC) enclosures.
  • Collaborate with operators, mold leads, supervisors and managers-70% of time on plant floor.
  • Write and maintain setup sheets, molding documentation, training guides, and SOPs .
  • Own process troubleshooting and material troubleshooting.
  • Train and mentor team members; drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Interface with tool shops and support capital projects for new equipment and automation.
  • Directly impact scrap reduction and production efficiency.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years' direct experience in thermoset compression molding (SMC/BMC) or closely related field
  • Strong hands-on understanding of molding processes, molding machines, and mold tooling.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator-respects others, values teamwork and models The Collaborative Way
  • Experience with hydraulic press systems (100T-1000T+), heating processes (oil, electric), and mold applications.
  • Proven record in process and material troubleshooting.
  • DOE experience for process optimization and root cause analysis
  • Prefer:
    • Allen Bradley PLC/HMI experience-able to read and edit code for process controls.
    • Experience with SMC/BMC, thermoset processes or oil-heated molding operations
    • Experience in high mix, low-volume manufacturing
  • Goal and process driven-comfortable driving change to deliver results
  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
