Job description

Compounding Pharmacy Technician

As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you'll work as part of a team that exceeds patient expectations through delivery of excellent, accurate, and efficient services. You'll measure, compound, and dispense customized medications using a variety of special equipment, formulas, and techniques.

Key responsibilities and essential functions include:

  • Compounding pharmacy operations
  • Sanitation/compliance
  • Receiving/stocking
  • Customer service (MARC location only)
  • Inventory management (MARC location only)
  • Cash handling/financial functions (MARC location only)

Qualifications and key requirements:

  • Work experience: Experience as a pharmacy technician (preferred)
  • Knowledge/skills/abilities: Understanding of general safety guidelines, proficiency in use of FORxMULATE, strong communication and interpersonal skills, math skills, computer skills, reading/writing skills, organization skills, ability to properly handle confidential information, ability to work with little direct supervision, ability to work as part of a team
  • Education: or equivalent
  • Licenses/certifications: Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • Maintain 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years (mandatory)
  • Renew TSBP Technician registration every 2 years, 60 days prior to expiration (mandatory)
  • Function in a fast-paced environment
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Manage in excess of 50 lbs
  • Specific vision requirements by this job include close vision and color vision
  • Work extended hours and/or rotating weekend schedules; remain flexible to the needs of the business
  • Properly use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) (#751 location only)
  • Properly handle/be exposed to hazardous chemicals on NIOSH list (#751 location only)
  • Use pallet jack, if needed
