Compounder II

Join a collaborative production team where your compounding expertise drives product quality.

Lead batch mixing and manufacturing on a 1st shift schedule in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Rate of pay: $24–$26/hr

About the Role

We are seeking a Compounder II to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will assist in producing high-quality hair color and hair care products by mixing batches, operating equipment, and following established procedures and safety standards. This is a hands-on, production-focused role ideal for someone with prior compounding experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in precision, safety, and product quality. You will report directly to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Work Order Execution

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch card instructions to complete production accurately and efficiently
  • Allocate and assign raw materials to work orders using Sage X3 (WMS/ERP system)

Pre-Weigh Operations

  • Accurately weigh raw materials required for production
  • Operate scales, pumps, and material handling equipment safely
  • Ensure all pre-weighing and chemical picking align with batch documentation
  • Request quarantined materials as needed
  • Complete and track all inventory movements according to SOPs

Batching & Production

  • Mix batches of hair color and hair care products following GMP and safety standards
  • Set up and sanitize equipment to ensure product quality and prevent contamination
  • Document all standard and non-standard mixing processes
  • Transfer finished products to holding tanks
  • Connect and operate piping, pumps, and auxiliary equipment for production flow
  • Perform sampling and testing of raw materials and finished batches

Inventory Management

  • Store raw materials safely in designated locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions (physical and system-based)
  • Ensure materials are available and production-ready
  • Report spills or hazardous conditions immediately
  • Ensure proper receiving and handling of incoming materials

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Perform in-process GMP checks, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment
  • Wash pumps, drums, and utensils as required
  • Safely collect and dispose of hazardous waste in designated areas

Education & Certifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May assist in training Compounder Trainees and Compounder Level I employees as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking for extended periods
  • Regular use of hands, reaching, and handling materials
  • Occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Must have good vision (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
Work Environment
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts
