Pharmacy Technician (12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.)
Position Summary
Mountains Community Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in providing safe, accurate, and efficient medication services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists with medication preparation, sterile compounding, inventory management, automated dispensing systems, and medication distribution while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute medications, including sterile IV compounds, under pharmacist supervision.
  • Restock Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, crash carts, and medication inventory.
  • Maintain compliance with USP <797> sterile compounding standards.
  • Assist with outpatient prescription processing and medication packaging.
  • Monitor medication inventory, expiration dates, recalls, and temperature logs.
  • Support pharmacy quality improvement, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).
  • One year of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Experience with sterile IV compounding, Pyxis, and unit-dose medication preparation.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.), including weekends and holidays as needed.
