Job description

Collegiate School seeks a Logistics Tech / Custodial Support to be responsible for the Schoolโ€™s logistical requirements; event set-ups, staging, and breakdowns, and assisting with the sorting and delivery of campus mail and packages, in accordance with standard operating procedures of the Department. Along with logistical responsibilities, this position is also required to assist with daily cleaning, and to help ensure completion of periodic tasks related to maintaining and improving the campus facilities.

This is a full-time benefitted position, 12-month position reporting directly to the Director of Facilities Management.

General Responsibilities include:

  • Review assigned set-ups and event requests and prioritize daily work assignments.
  • Responsible for setups and special event needs.
  • Responsible for the breakdown, removal and storage of logistical equipment.
  • Space cleaning before and after meetings and events
  • Assist with delivering, sorting and processing incoming and outgoing mail, both inter-campus and U.S. mail as required.
  • Delivery of custodial supplies
  • Empty and remove waste or recycling/composting receptacles.
  • Maintain cleanliness in offices, cafeterias, and common areas as needed.
  • Remain up-to-date and informed as to current practices of job-related functions.
  • Be available to work special events, activities and certain weekend days, as needed.
  • Observe and report the need for furniture or other building fixture repairs.
  • Comply with OSHA safety rules and regulations, and use appropriate P.P.E.
  • Perform other necessary Physical Plant duties, as assigned.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

  • 3 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: logistics, moving, transportation, package/mail delivery.
  • Ability to use a computer/electronic tablet.
  • Ability to be pro-active, and demonstrate effective use of time.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral comprehension skills required. Specifically; the ability to read manuals and follow safety instructions.
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Self -Starter
  • High School Diploma.
  • A valid Virginia driver's license and the ability to meet Collegiate Schoolโ€™s driving criteria.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual coordination including finger dexterity, eye/hand/foot coordination, able to distinguish between colors, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, depth perception and hearing.
  • Must be able to walk the campuses regularly, lift, lower, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to stand, climb, bend, stoop and crouch for extended periods of time.
  • May be subjected to extreme heat and cold temperatures.
  • Will be subjected to motor and/or machine noise.
