The Role:
The Receiving Associate performs activities associated with preparing orders for our eaters. You will be responsible for picking and packing orders and ensuring the timely completion of orders to our delivery drivers.
Tasks:
  • Stocking: Storing and stocking products on shelves, pallets, bins, racks, cooler, freezers, and refrigerators with proper FIFO rotation
  • Picking product to fulfill orders
  • Loading and unloading: Moving heavy products to and from storage areas, such as trucks, shelves, or vehicles
  • Organizing: Keeping the work area clean and organized, and disposing of trash
  • Inventory: Using inventory software to track and log products as they are received and then taken out for order fulfillment
  • Customer service: Helping Chefs and kitchen staff find merchandise and providing them with information
  • Displays: Organizing product on racks, shelves and pallets to ensure Kitchen staff have access to the merchandise they are looking for
  • Labeling: Adding price tags to items and assigning items with marking codes, prices, and stock numbers. Proper labeling of Lot numbers and expiration dates.
  • Keep up with the movement of merchandise in the store and warehouse
  • Weekly counting of assigned inventory
  • Managing disposal of compost and trash properly
  • Keep the warehouse and cooler, freezer and all areas clean following Food Safety Standards.
Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • You are eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be familiar with FIFO and food safety regulations
  • You are reliable: punctual and regular attendance is required - changing the way the world eats and chef work takes heart and discipline!
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack is helpful but not required
  • Experience working in a food facility is helpful but not required
  • Able to stand or walk for 8 hour shifts and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally may be required to work in a cold refrigerated area kept at 35 degrees

Compensation
