What is a composite trimmer?

Composite Trimmers are skilled workers who trim, cut, and finish composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, or other reinforced plastics, typically used in industries like aerospace, automotive, and marine manufacturing. They use various tools, including hand tools and power equipment, to precisely shape and smooth components according to specifications. Their work ensures that composite parts meet quality standards and fit correctly for final assembly. Attention to detail and knowledge of safety procedures are essential in this role.

What does a composite trimmer do?

A Composite Trimmer is responsible for precisely cutting, shaping, and finishing composite parts according to engineering specifications. On a daily basis, this involves using specialized tools to trim excess material, sanding edges for smoothness, and inspecting finished components for quality assurance. These tasks are crucial for ensuring that each part meets strict tolerances and is ready for assembly or shipment. Composite Trimmers often collaborate closely with production technicians, quality inspectors, and engineers to troubleshoot issues and maintain workflow efficiency.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a composite trimmer?
