We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team, Equities & Cross\-Asset Financing Tech, as Synthetic Trading Lead Engineer.<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Equities & Cross\-Asset Financing Technology is a diverse global team that works together to build innovative sales and trading systems for the Prime Brokerage and Financing businesses. We care about working hand\-in\-hand with our business partners towards realising the architectural principles of simplicity, efficiency and transparency.  The successful candidate will be working on an exciting project to deliver the 'next generation' of client Synthetic trading platform.<\/span>

Principal responsibilities<\/span>
<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Design and build a scalable and highly available global low latency Synthetic trading platform<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Contribute and make strategic decisions that affect the design and architecture of this platform.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Work closely with the front\-office trading and product teams to ensure fast and accurate delivery of new functionality and improvements.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Liaise with local compliance, NFR and other risk\/control teams to ensure full compliance with the letter and spirit of all relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Maintain continuous communication with the wider global team: collaborative development, reviews and strategic decision making.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>\n
  • Contribute and influence on the future state architecture.<\/span>

    • Prior experience of working in an investment banking setting.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Expert\-level, applied Java experience including the JVM, garbage collection, data structures and non\-blocking IO.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Prior experience of low latency development, GCP and UI development is a plus.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • In\-depth knowledge of DeltaOne and Synthetic trading including the order lifecycle, locate, inventory management, FIX messaging<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Good understanding of the design and architecture of robust, scalable and highly available distributed trading platforms.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Passionate advocate for technology, technological solutions and continuous improvement.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Good understanding of risk, risk management and the role technology plays in this highly regulated environment.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Fluent in written and spoken English and an excellent communicator.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Appreciation of agile software delivery practices and knowledge of DevOps.<\/span>
