Position Title: Component Engineer
Location: Arlington, TX
Clearance Requirements: Secret - must already have an active security clearance
Position Status: Contract (Contingent Labor)
Pay Rate: Up To $61.83/hr (Based on Experience)
Position Description:
Are you a highly skilled Component Engineer with a passion for ensuring the highest quality standards in defense technology? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join a critical project supporting national security. This role involves verifying electrical component specifications, ensuring compliance with military standards, and facilitating the seamless transition of product development to production for complex weapon systems. The successful candidate will support key programs such as LTIAMD and PAC-3, focusing on electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical (EEE) components.
In this role, you will evaluate design assurance activities, implement production process methodologies, and address obstacles that may impact production speed and quality. Your expertise in manufacturing quality requirements and ability to analyze and resolve complex process issues will be essential in maintaining the integrity of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify electrical component specifications, military standards, and performance requirements for EEE components.
  • Support the transition of products from development to production through rigorous evaluation of quality and design assurance activities.
  • Develop and apply quality testing and inspection methods to ensure materials meet specifications.
  • Analyze drawings, schematics, and technical data to support system integration and quality processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and utilize problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Maintain compliance with military standards and quality requirements such as MIL-PRF, MIL-STD, and IPC standards.
  • Support material review boards and production parts approval processes (PPAP).

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Active Secret security clearance (required to start).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical component failure analysis, microelectronics fabrication, or related fields.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex process issues.
  • Experience with quality testing, inspection methods, and manufacturing standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access.

Desired Skills & Certifications:
  • Familiarity with military standards (MIL-STD-202, 883, 750), MIL-PRF, and IPC standards.
  • Experience with ICs, discrete semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, or PWB assembly.
  • Knowledge of audit techniques and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt, CQE, CQIA).
  • Experience with SAP applications, Product Development Process, and Material Review Boards.
  • Machine shop or electronics manufacturing inspection experience.
  • PPAP experience and familiarity with advanced quality management systems such as AS9100.
