The Role


We are seeking a Risk Management Representative to join our team. This position will service the northeastern part of Massachusetts and will be responsible for providing municipal risk management services. The preferred Risk Management candidate will possess a basic knowledge of municipal government operations and associated risk. In addition, the position requires participation in the planning and presentation of municipal risk management services to include training, safety, inspection, and loss analysis to members. The position will also interact with underwriting and marketing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret loss frequency, severity, and root cause data to develop meaningful risk management strategies and solutions.
  • Present analysis and strategic recommendations to municipal leaders and department heads.
  • On-site surveys and quantification of property, liability, fleet and workers’ compensation loss exposures.
  • Conduct property valuation.
  • Assist members in implementing and participation in safety meetings, training sessions and access to key program resources (guidelines, policies, best practices, training, tailgates)
  • Investigate and obtain materials on emerging issues and trends. Assist in the identification and development of new training and resource opportunities
  • Conduct field training of designated personnel as required.

The Candidate

The candidate will have 3+ years of experience in a risk management/safety/loss control role. Municipal experience and a college degree are highly desirable. Professional designation such as ARM, CSP, ASP, or ALCM is preferred. Certifications in OSHA Compliance, First Aid/CPR Instruction and defensive driving desired. Should be familiar with NFPA, FM, U.L. and OSHA standards and requirements. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
