Job description

Where Strategy Meets Integrity: Compliance Manager

Genisys Credit Union is looking for a Compliance Manager who doesn’t just see a list of regulations, but a master blueprint for member trust. If you are a high-level strategist who can navigate the complexities of NCUA and DIFS rules with ease, and you're ready to lead a team that serves as our institution’s moral and legal compass, you’ve found your next home.

This position is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The selected candidate will be required to work in person for training purposes. Once fully trained, a hybrid schedule may be offered, but the employee must commute to the Auburn Hills location for in person days.

The Mission

As our Compliance Manager, you aren’t just a "checker of boxes." You are a strategic advisor. You’ll oversee the daily administration of our compliance program, ensuring that every loan we fund and every account we open is backed by rock-solid adherence to state and federal law.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the Shield: Manage a team of Compliance Specialists, mentoring them to become the next generation of regulatory experts.

  • Regulatory Navigator: Stay three steps ahead of the NCUA, DIFS, and legislative shifts to ensure we aren’t just reacting to change, but anticipating it. We are looking for a leader with deep subject matter expertise across consumer, mortgage, and business lending. You will be responsible for translating complex requirements—including Truth in Lending (Reg Z), RESPA/TILA, the Dodd-Frank Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act—into seamless, compliant operational strategies that protect the Credit Union and our members.

  • Bridge Builder: Work hand-in-hand with our VP of Risk Management and Internal Audit to help turn exam findings into bulletproof operational improvements.

  • Champion of Fairness: Conduct deep-dive audits into Fair Lending to ensure every member of our community is treated with the equity they deserve.

The Perfect Profile
  • The Veteran: You bring 5+ years of financial compliance experience and at least 3 years of proven leadership in a management role.

  • The Mindset: You have a "detective’s eye" for detail but a "coach’s heart" for leadership. You can spot a gap in a process and lead a team to fix it before it becomes a problem.

  • The Credentials: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (like the CUCE) are a huge plus.

  • The Communicator: You can take complex legal requirements and explain them clearly to everyone from the front-line staff to the executive team.

What We Offer

We believe in taking care of the people who take care of our members. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Generous Time Off: Vacation and Paid Time Off (PTO), plus 8 hours of holiday pay per observed holiday.

  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Short/Long-Term Disability.

  • Future Planning: 401k with up to a 3% match plus a 5% Profit Share.

Ready to Secure Our Future?

Don’t meet every single requirement listed here? That’s okay! At Genisys, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this position but your qualifications or past experiences don’t align perfectly with those listed in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may just be the right candidate for this or other open positions we have!
