Job description

The Director of Compliance and Training provides strategic leadership for the agency's quality assurance, compliance, and training initiatives. This position is responsible for analyzing organizational trends, identifying areas of risk, and developing proactive strategies to improve service quality, regulatory compliance, and workforce competency. Working collaboratively with nursing, behaviorists, program coordinators, and executive leadership, the Director ensures training and quality improvement efforts support consistent, person-centered services while reducing incidents, medication errors, and compliance deficiencies. The Director provides oversight and guidance to Quality Assurance and Training Coordinators who support the day-to-day implementation of training and compliance activities.


       Provide strategic oversight of the agency's quality assurance and training programs to promote regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement.

       Analyze incident reports, medication errors, abuse and neglect investigations, audit findings, and other quality assurance data to identify trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for improvement.

       Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and targeted training plans designed to reduce incidents, medication errors, documentation deficiencies, and regulatory citations.

       Collaborate with nursing, behaviorists, and all levels of program management to identify operational challenges and implement corrective and preventive strategies.

       Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of agency-wide training programs, including new employee orientation, annual mandatory training, DDS-required training, Therap documentation, and other compliance-related education.

       Ensure training curricula remain current with DDS regulations, licensing standards, agency policies, and industry best practices.

       Provide consultation and guidance to leadership regarding compliance expectations, corrective action planning, risk mitigation, and performance improvement initiatives.

       Supervise and provide direction to Quality Assurance and Training Coordinators responsible for daily compliance monitoring, audit activities, training coordination, certification tracking, and implementation of corrective action plans.

       Present quality assurance metrics, compliance trends, and training outcomes to executive leadership, including recommendations for continuous improvement.

       Serve as a subject matter expert on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, staff development, and best practices in services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

       Perform other duties as assigned to support agency operations and strategic initiatives.
