Medical Director – Macomb County Jail

Compensation Information: $319,297.68 – $390,252.72 per year

Department (Org): Administration

Overview

Provide clinical leadership at a facility, ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations. Deliver direct care, supervise staff, and coordinate with internal and external providers. Make a difference every day in the lives of the underserved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct medical care and document all clinical encounters in compliance with standards.
  • Supervise and support healthcare staff and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Oversee chronic care clinics, utilization review, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Maintain clinical oversight and consult on complex medical cases or referrals.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Medical school graduate

Experience: Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current licensure in the state of employment.
  • Current DEA number.
  • CPR certification.
  • Privileges and CME requirements maintained for continued medical practice in the state.
Additional Details

Full‑time position. Work Monday‑Friday with on‑call responsibilities.
