Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Verify identification and age requirements of customers.
  • Mix traditional and creative cocktails.
  • Process payment from customers.
  • Clean glasses and bar utensil.
  • Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences.
  • Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits.
  • Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift.
  • Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.
  • Receive and take guest orders and process in a timely manner through whatever systems are currently used in the restaurant.
  • Prepare and serve meal accompaniments to guests.
  • Perform side work.
  • Open bottled wine for guests.
  • Bus and set tables, as needed.
  • Perform set up and breakdown of various stations (i.e., deli, dessert, coffee, espresso)
  • Assist with orders to go, as needed.
  • Seat guests and help with answering phones as business demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have food and wine knowledge for pairing suggestions.
  • Up sells established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
  • Communicate with support crew and management.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
  • Entry level bartending experience required.
  • One year minimum of customer service experience preferably within the Food & Beverage industry.
