We are looking for an experienced MSVC Compiler Engineer to contribute to the development of the Microsoft Visual C++ (MSVC) compiler toolchain for Intel Architecture. In this role, you will work on core compiler backend components, drive performance improvements, and collaborate closely with hardware architecture teams to deliver highly optimized code generation for current and future Intel platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain compiler backend optimizers and code generation components.
  • Develop and refine code generation and transformation techniques to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hardware architects and software developers to define and implement optimizations for next-generation Intel hardware.
  • Execute comprehensive testing and validation of compiler features, ensuring correctness and performance across a variety of workloads.
  • Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in generated code using profiling tools and real-world benchmarking scenarios.
  • Stay current with advances in compiler research and industry technologies, incorporating relevant innovations into the toolchain.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, providing technical leadership, guidance, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Compiler backend design and implementation
    • Application of compiler concepts and techniques with experience in LLVM, GCC, or other compiler frameworks
    • C/C++, and object oriented programming
    • Creating and characterizing performance using micro- and macro-benchmarks

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or PhD in relevant fields of study with 2+ years of hands-on experience
  • Contributions to open-source compiler projects
  • Knowledge of x86 Instruction Set Architecture and advanced CPU features such as AVX, AMX etc
  • Knowledge of Operating System Fundamentals, x86/Arm CPU Architecture.
