Job description

The Product Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and driving the sales growth and profitability of Westlake Royal Building Products’ Portsmouth Shake, Foundry Specialty Siding, and Versetta Stone product lines. This role partners closely with the Product and Marketing teams within the Siding and Trim Solutions groups to define strategy, execute product initiatives, and support business objectives. This position is preferably located in Columbus, Ohio.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, including capturing the voice of the customer across channels and end users, defining product strategy, and implementing the product vision.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop product and marketing strategies for the Siding segment within the Westlake Royal Building Products portfolio.
  • Provide clear, effective, and timely communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain full P&L responsibility for assigned product lines.
  • Ensure annual sales and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
  • Establish strategic pricing for new products and serve as an advisor to Sales on pricing negotiations.
  • Lead product and project management activities within the Stage-Gate process for new product development.
  • Manage pre-launch activities for new products, including beta jobs and early-stage initiatives coordinated with Sales.
  • Lead and support cross-functional teams, including representatives from Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, Sales, and other key functions.
  • Gather market intelligence, competitive intelligence, industry news, and other market indicators, and share insights broadly across the organization.
  • Represent assigned products at industry trade shows, customer events, and internal and external training sessions.
  • Participate in annual budget development and manage forecasts, spending, and variances for projects and activities related to assigned product lines.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of five years of marketing, sales, product management, or related experience required; Stage-Gate process experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced, energetic work environment.
  • Previous experience with premium or high-end products required; building materials experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while holding self and others accountable for results through disciplined execution, particularly in a team environment.
  • Effective project management skills and a solid understanding of marketing principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, sales reporting tools, and web-based applications required.
  • Working knowledge of graphics software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as the role is normally based in an office setting. Some work may be required in operating units, where the use of required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, may be necessary. The role may also involve exposure to outside elements and require the use of stairs and elevators. Travel, including air and automobile travel, may occasionally be required.
